As I read the word today, I’m not looking for information or to learn some character trait.  I’m on a scavenger hunt for revelation about WHO Jesus is.  I’m searching for clue’s into what He cares about.  I’m looking for His heart, studying His personality, letting myself become fascinated with His intentions.
John 14:1-6  “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe  also in Me.

“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.”

In this scripture you can hear that His hearts desire is to bring peace to His companions.  He wants to take all worry and fear from his friends.  He’s saying to them, “You can believe me.  In eternity there is so much room!  There’s a place just for you!”

But what sticks out to me is this phrase:  “…if it were not so, I would have told you”

It’s like being with a friend who reminds you that you can depend on them to watch your back.   A friend who says “don’t worry…   I’ll tell you if if you have food on your face.   I’ll tell you if I get mad at you.  I promise to be honest with you no matter what.  You can count on me to tell you like it is.”

Jesus is saying to them “I would tell you – no matter what the news, no matter how bad or good the information is, you can depend on me to be honest with you….  I’ll tell you everything.  You can trust me.”

So…    lets make today a day of trust.  Not trusting in our ability to hear Him, but trusting in HIS desire to communicate.

He’ll tell you if you have food on your face, or if there’s a stream of unseemly paper stuck to your heel :).

He’ll tell you if something changes.

He’ll keep you in the loop.

He wont leave you ashamed.

His desire is for you to be in peace.  His heart, His motive, His intention is tocomfort you with the Truth.

He’s got your back.
