“…For He is our God,  And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice,  Do not harden your hearts…” Psalm 95:7-8

There’s a profound connection between hearing God’s voice and the condition of our heart.

I don’t believe that our heart needs to be pure to hear Him.  If this were so, no one would ever be saved 🙂  But I do believe that every time we hear His voice we have a choice to make in how we’re going to respond.

Our responses will carve the path in front of us, setting it’s course in one direction or the other.

Do we quickly toss His voice aside in unbelief?  The path of confusion and struggle will follow.

Do we hear, but only act when it’s convenient?  The path of spiritual boredom will be marked out.

Do we hear, then get offended and self-willed?  The slope that leads to anger and depression will begin to form.

Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts….
When we react in these ways, one thing is blazingly clear.

We need to encounter His Love.

When we soak within His Presence, and allow His Love to work through us like leaven, we don’t have to train ourselves to obey Him or discipline our flesh to come under subjection.  Instead our heart becomes captivated and can do nothing else but instinctively follow the Lover of our souls.  It’s the most natural thing in the world.

Do you find yourself wrestling with His Voice?

Just stop, and let Him love you.

Do you feel fear creep in when you’re met with His silence?

Shake it off and let Him lead you into His great rest.

Is unbelief your disease?

Let His love heal you.
Just let Him.

“All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth.” Psalm 25:10

ALL!

All of His path’s are Love and Truth.   All of His ways are trustworthy.  All of His decisions are Holy.  All of His intentions are pure.  All of His words are life changing.

The path of Christ is where true life is found.

So do not harden your hearts.

Today….

His Voice is near.
